SERIAN: SMK Serian is making a bid to enter the Malaysia
Book of Records by producing 5,000 1Malaysia logos in a
day.
Some 2,800 students are targeting to colour and decorate
that many logos in the “1Student, 1Logo, 1Malaysia”
programme.
Programme coordinator S. Sivanesvaran said a school in
Negri Sembilan aimed at coming up with 14,000 logos in
four months.

“However, we hope to come up with 5,000 logos in a day.
We have the morning and afternoon session students
working on it,” he told reporters when met at the school
yesterday.
Sivanesvaran said that school decided to take on the
challenge as it wanted to do something different this
time around instead of just getting together for the
National Day.
He said this would also spur the imagination and
creativity of the students.
“We will only know how much we have done tomorrow
(today) and we will contact the Malaysia Book of
Records,” he said.
The school principal Ramli Zainuddin said the programme
was also a way of making the students feel the 1Malaysia
concept instead of just saying it.
“It’s not enough for us to keep telling them about
1Malaysia. We need to let them feel the concept and
foster closer bonds among themselves through the
programme,” he said.
When asked about the programme, student Matheson Asang
Maxwell, 17, felt it would be a proud moment for them if
they achieved the record.
“This is the first attempt in Sarawak and it will be
great to make history by getting into the Malaysia Book
of Records,” he said.
Matheson said the students would also feel the
competitive spirit since their art work would be judged
individually too for creativity and beauty.
